You may have noticed that the name of this Gratitude blog has changed. I’m very excited to announce that the new name of this little gratitude experiment site is officially…
www.Gratitudexp.com It will hopefully make it easier to remember, and make it easier for you to tell others about it. The way I think of it is..
Gratitude xp: exceptionally proactive, exceptionally powerful! So, help spread the word. The more of us doing this, the more the vibration of the planet rises and the more positively energetic humanity will become!
My gratitude for yesterday was about how grateful I was that everything flowed so smoothly and gracefully all day. It’s so great when that happens. And, I must say, I now (thanks to the practice of proactive gratitude) get more of those days than not.
However…there are those times when nothing seems to be going well at all. When there is a huge challenge you have to face. I had one of those today. And I kept thinking…I’m supposed to find the blessing in this?! What could I possibly be grateful for this suckish morning?
Well, I kept at it and…I found it. It was a “teaching moment” as they say in conscious parenting. A horrible challenge with your child can become the very best opportunity to have them learn the lesson that just might change the course of their lives.
That’s what I came to be grateful about…the opportunity to learn something so valuable it could transform my life. And you know what? When I started looking at it like that, I stopped struggling against it. I relaxed into it and all the anger and anxiety just drained right out of me. It was at this point that I could see, and be grateful for, the opportunity to grow to a higher level.
For all things, we can be grateful because we are so loved and all things work together for our good!
I am grateful that the manager at our store misinterpreted me today, because it helped me to realize two things. The first is to have the intention to carefully choose my words before I actually say them, thereby helping others to hear exactly what I mean to say, so that there is no possibility for misinterpretation. Secondly, if anyone does still misunderstand what I’ve said, verbally make the correction, so they can see immediately that my first attempt was one that ‘just came out wrong’, and that my correction is quick enough to make the whole event quickly forgiveable, and then forgettable.
Welcome to the Gratitude Experiment Kasandra. Thank you for your insightful comment and your courage to see the opportunity in what might have otherwise caused some distress. As I was writing yesterday…sometimes our challenges are the greatest tools for growth and transformation.
Thank you for sharing this with us! Everybody read!
I am grateful today for my 15 year old daughter who I admire and feel so much love for. She is a gift from God which I felt the moment she was conceived and I still feel this way.. I am grateful her sweet spirit found me and she was born through me. A blessing for sure…
How sweet! What a blessing indeed. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I am grateful today for my friend K who walks with me, talks with me, loves me and says “How did I live my live this long without knowing Cynthia?” !!! The gratitude I feel for having a friend like that is beyond words but fills my heart!!! Blessings to all.
I am grateful the sun has shone through the fog and damp day to brighten my day. I am grateful as I just sat at the bay’s edge in Tiburon looking across the clear, glistening sun filled bay to see the Golden Gate bridge and San Francisco. There is nothing like that sight. The pelican’s were dipping and soaring -it was a perfect moment in God’s arms…
I am grateful for a wonderful day with my daughter and her friend shopping, eating and having fun. It is a blessing to have teenagers who want to hang out with me!!!
I am grateful on this Winter solistice day for the beauty around me: The rainbow in my backyard!; the dear friends I have and baking cookies with my daughter. It is a blessed time of year.
